She was murdered by her in-laws, not just by the men but also by the powerful women in the family for bringing insufficient dowry.
Domestic violence, bride burning, honour killing, acid attacks, rape are all different forms of atrocities towards women around the world especially in patriarchal societies.
When we talk about patriarchal society, we talk about the primary power given to men and their exploitation of power to oppress women. But we must remember that in such social systems both men and women have been trained into patriarchy from generations to generations.
